Ground Turkey Donburi thingie
Made this last week and it was an instant hit. Kinda a mix between cuisines, but it works nonetheless. Wifey is giving it a try tonight.
A) 1 lb ground turkey
B) 2 tbl chopped garlic
C) 1 1/2 tbl grated ginger
D) 1/2 tsp. sesame oil
E) 1 1/2 cups chopped red pepper
F) 1 1/2 cups chopped spinach
G) 1 cup chopped cilantro
H) 2 tsp. Hoisin Sauce
I) Toasted Sesame Seeds
J) 1/4 cup shredded, pickled ginger
K) 2 1/2 cups cooked rice
L) 1/4 cup water
M) Hot Chili Oil or Fried Chili Flakes in Oil
Heat D in a large, high-sided saucepan until shimmering. Add C,E,F, and 3/4 cup of G and saute on medium for 10 minutes until soft and aromatic. add A and B and cook, turning, until turkey meat is almost cooked.
In the meantime, mix H, L, and M and add to the mix. Go easy on the hot sauce...you can always add more. Let the sauce evaporate a bit. Add J right near the end and taste. If not enough sweet sauce, add more H.
Mix in K and I until everything is even. Serve in a big bowl with more I and fresh G on top.
