Ask Your Neighbor

Ok, so Bob Allison isn't the coolest looking guy. In fact, I think Restoration Hardware calls him for advise on what retro REALLY means....

But Bob's radio program, Ask Your Neighbor, heard in Detroit on AM690 WNZK, and around the world on the internet, is the real thing. I went looking for a pork marinade and found a whole lot more. Takes you back to those quieter days, when the skies were quiet, apple pie cooled on the window sill and little Jimmy lost his virginity to Elga, the Norwegian Substitute teacher.

Ok, scratch that last bit. I just liked Miss Norway.

Jimmy did his homework, worked hard and turned into Bob Allison's right hand man (see below). Oh come on, chicks love radio guys.

Thanks for the recipe, Skippy.

Uncle Easy's Chipotle Sauce

This is the stuff. Comes from a guy named Chef Caro at Cajun Power Sauce. I had this fantastic sauce on a boat recently to make up for a lackluster meal preparation. It blew me out of my chair. Great smoky tang and deep, rich, everlasting flavor. I just ordered a case. Pick some up yourself.

Cool Whip?

So I am in Philadelphia on a layover. It's been a few weeks since I've flown, but I thought I would check out the prohibited items list from TSA before I left for the international terminal.

Turns out that along with knives, gels and water, you are also not allowed to bring on "whipped cream," however, you are allowed to bring on corkscrews and screwdrivers less than 6" long (but ony plastic knives. Hhm. What will they think of next?
